Tajikistan possesses vast reserves of non-metallic minerals, yet the extraction of perlite board raw materials and high-purity sands has traditionally relied on basic quarrying methods. The rugged terrain of the Pamir Mountains provides unique geological deposits, but logistical challenges often hinder the distribution of processed minerals to urban centers like Dushanbe.
Currently, there is a surging demand for aesthetic landscaping materials. The rise in urban residential projects has increased the local consumption of artificial pebbles for garden and decorative aggregates, moving the market away from raw riverbed extraction toward processed, standardized industrial products.
Despite the abundance of raw clay and silica, the lack of advanced sorting and refining technology means that much of the blue decorative sand used in high-end projects is imported. There is a critical need for localized processing plants that can implement modern flotation and grading techniques.
